Systemic Supervision

For those undertaking AFT accredited training, AFT members intermediately trained practising systemically and for fully qualified family and systemic psychotherapists for whom AFT support for UKCP registration, the recommended and/or required standard is to have supervision from an AFT Approved Supervisor or a 3 year post qualified Family and Systemic Psychotherapist.

 For specific supervision requirements see:

  • Blue Book - For training standards for accredited courses and trainees

  • AFT's CPD Policy - Details the supervision requirements for UKCP registered Family and Systemic Psychotherapists validated via AFT. (For therapists registered via IFT or CFCSP, please consult their CPD policies)

  • For those part-qualified, trained to intermediate level,  and using systemic skills to enhance practice, please see the systemic practitioner page.

  • The Supervisor Information Sheet can be found in the 'member' information sheet page and provides further guidance for AFT members for both supervisors and supervisees.

The supervision hours detailed are minimum values.  Therefore there is no pro-rata reduction for part-time working as the standards remain the same.
